Re: Use of Slingers.

There is an important thing to realise with Slings in that if you've got an enemy right on the limit of 8". You can make two attacks for a single action with your sling at this range but if the first attack is a Force Back, the second shot may not be possible as part of the same action as the target...

Re: engaging the rear from front?

Ha! But by using the spear or Halberd special 1" rule you never engage your enemy and therefor you can circle around? Same with bow (thinking about the 2" bonus). Thats the way we been playing it anyway  Very true. I do this too. :) Models with missile weapons running past and firing point...

Re: What is your favourite weapon in Open Combat?

I can see value in all of the options for many different reasons but I managed to reduce it down to being torn between sling and javelin although I quite like no weapons/fists too in massed zombie horde builds. (I like setting up blocked Force Backs) I ended up voting for the Sling. I've found one o...

Re: PHALANX SHOW 18.06.16

That's great news! This sounds like loads of fun. I'll check to see what traders will be carrying Open Combat at the show so that you can direct any interested players to them. I think Twisted Pinnacle will be carrying it at Phalanx this year. For anyone that is interested here's a link to the show ...

Re: (Weapon) "WYSIWYG", "Counts as" and "Hidden" dagger

This is an interesting discussion item. Alan Hughes mentioned on his blog a year ago that keeping the model stats secret instead of open produced an interesting dynamic to the game. You could extend this approach by deciding to play with undisclosed profiles and only knowledge of weapons that are vi...

Great to meet you too!

Apologies that I had no time to play (would have loved to) - it was just so crazy busy at that show. :)

Good to meet you too Branflayk!

Apologies for the delay in responding - I've not stopped since Salute. This is my first day of slowing down a bit.

Re: engaging the rear from front?

We faced this issue in our game today, with a warrior having been pushed back by an attack, then on their turn just running around the back because they had 5" move and could just about squeeze to rear attack. It felt a bit gamey, like other players have mentioned. Photo here: https://www.instagram...

Re: Two hits and other items

Hello and welcome to the forum! Thanks to Yuma for fielding the questions - I'll simply reiterate with a few pages numbers for reference. 1: / Rolling 3 dice to attack. You get 6,5,1. Can you pick the 5 and 6? From reading the two dice selection it appears that you can't because the 6 would push bac...

Still hoping it gets here before I go to Salute on Saturday.
